Russ Robinson
1. Name: Russ Robinson
2. How long have you called Jacksonville home? Since April 2022 (I'm the new guy in town)3. Favorite local restaurant right now: Fast Eddy's Quick Mideast4. Go-to drink order (cocktail, coffee, or otherwise): Vodka Tonic or Painkiller
5. If Jacksonville had an official snack, what would it be and why? JagNuggets, a walking/sharing snack!Filling: Mayport shrimp minced, Cream cheese (or vegan alternative), onion, bell pepper & garlic, splash of Italian dressingOuter Layer: Light coating of panko, fried
You're welcome Jacksonville, someone get on making this a real thing!
6. You have one free afternoon in Jax—what’s your perfect food + fun combo? Easy answer- Leaderboard Arcade, Shad Road. All of the fun and great food in one spot7. If you could rename one Jacksonville neighborhood after your favorite food or drink, what would it be called? This is an interesting one. I guess I'd call Riverside "The Steak" because I can't getenough of it.8. What’s your most “only in Jacksonville” story or moment? Seeing Susan Tedeschi & Derek Trucks at JIA. I know they're world famous, but they're Jacksonville based. I've been a fan of Susan since I first heard her as a solo artist in 1998. I didn't bother them because they seemed in a hurry and travel is stressful enough without some fan running up to you to slow you down. Again, they're Jacksonvillebased, so I hope to run into them again someday just to thank them for all the music.9. You’re leading a foodie tour for an out-of-towner—what’s your first stop, and what are they eating? You didn't scroll up on accident, my answer is Fast Eddy's again. They're eating literally anything on the menu. Then they're dealing with it when I go on and on and on about why the place is so special to me.10. Bonus silly one: If a manatee offered to be your foodie sidekick for a day, where are you taking them first? 🦦🍤 Probably to Leaderboard Arcade. I'd pay good money to see a manatee play pinball.
